The New-York based digital entertainment company intends to pay the right candidate up to $3K a month to smoke cannabis.  The job, which almost sounds too good to be true, involves testing out a range of marijuana strains, vapes, edibles, and CBD oils. It’s important to note, though, that whoever gets hired will be an independent contractor without any formal benefits, such as health insurance.

A Tweet posted by @American_MJ on the morning of November 4th, 2019, reads, “New Post!!! Follow the link provided…Cannabis Product Reviewer Wanted: Smoke Weed and Get Paid Up to $3,000 a month.”

Along with consuming cannabis on a daily basis, the unique work-from-home position also includes writing blog reviews about all of the different marijuana-based products, as well as filming daily videos documenting the experience for eager social media viewers and online readers.

According to the job posting on their website, “The applicant will have to write about their honest reviews and opinions of the product in the form of a blog. Moreover, they must also be comfortable in front of the camera since the job includes unboxing videos and explainer videos of how each cannabis product performs and differs from other, more notable products in the category.”

The job listing goes on to read, “If you think you got the guts to smoke weed every day (plays Snoop Dogg song) and get paid doing it, you might just be the guy we need. But DO NOT expect us to hire you just because you can smoke because we’re looking for a guy who also has extensive knowledge of marijuana to educate our readers. This may not be for everybody but I bet you’re interested in this type of work. I mean, come on, who doesn’t want to get paid by doing what you love?”

In addition to the $36,000 annual salary, the company has also promised to cover all of the cannabis and paraphernalia required to do the job. All in all, it sounds like a pretty great gig.

"Every month, the lucky applicant will be shipped a box containing different brands and varieties of cannabis products…These products range from weed strains, vapes, edibles to CBD oils. The applicant will then test the products in person and write about their experience with the product from unboxing to everything they’ll be doing with the product.”

Residents of Canada or U.S. states with legalized cannabis are encouraged to apply for the position with their resume, social media CV, and 60-second video biography. Applicants must also pass a brief quiz by listing six alternative slang terms for cannabis.
