Method: Step 1: Grind the cannabis extremely fine. Stop before it becomes powdery though CANNABIS EXTRACTION, CANNABIS COCOUNT OILas this will make it very hard to strain from the end product. Step 2: Set the crockpot to HIGH. Add the coconut oil and enough water to allow the oil to float at least ½ inch above the bottom of the crockpot. Step 3: Stir in the cannabis slowly. You may find you need to add more water at this stage to keep everything floating above the bottom. this stage to keep everything floating above the bottom. Step 4: From here, you will want to check the temperature with the thermometer periodically until the temperature reaches 250 degrees. ***It’s very important to check the temperature frequently and do not let the temperature exceed 270 degrees.*** Step 5: Once you’ve reached 250 degrees, reduce the heat on your crockpot to LOW. Step 6: Allow to cook for 12 hours. Periodically stir and check the temperature. ***It’s very important to check the temperature frequently and do not let the temperature exceed 270 degrees.*** Periodically add water to keep the mixture at least ½ inch from the bottom and keep the cannabis submerged. Step 7: Turn off the crockpot and allow the mixture to cool for 10-15 minutes. Step 8: While the mixture is cooling a bit, place the cheesecloth over the large bowl and secure with a large rubber band. Step 9: Pour the mixture slowly over the cheesecloth and allow it to drip into the bowl. This will strain out all of the plant material leaving you with liquid in the bowl. Step 10: Place the bowl in the fridge overnight to allow the oil and water to separate. The pure coconut canna oil will rise to the top, leaving any additional plant material and water by-product at the bottom. Step 11: Separate the hardened coconut canna oil from the top and store in wax paper in the fridge.

Canna Butter Extraction

Ingredients:
4 sticks of butter for every ounce of cannabis
Cannabis that has been soaked in water overnight, dried, and decarbed
Water
Cheesecloth
Glass bowl
Wax Paper
Large Saucepan

Method: Step 1: Grind the cannabis extremely fine. Stop before it becomes powdery though as this will make it very hard to strain from the end product. Step 2: In a sauceCANNABIS BUTTER, CANNABIS EXTRACTIONpan, pour in enough water to keep the cannabis floating about 2 inches from the bottom of the pan at all times. Bring the water to a boil and add four sticks of butter for every ounce of cannabis.  Allow all the butter to melt completely. Step 3: Once all the butter has melted, add your cannabis and turn the heat down to low heat to allow the mixture to barely simmer for about three hours. When the top of the mix becomes glossy and thick, your mixture is ready for the next step. Step 4: Take a large glass bowl and place a double layer of cheesecloth on the top. While you can use any bowl you prefer, I recommend glass since you won’t have to worry about chemicals from plastic leaching into your cannabutter.

You will want to secure the cloth really well. Large rubber bands work very well for this

Step 5: Pour your cannabutter mixture over the bowl, straining out all the solid material. Once you’ve finished pouring, gather your cheesecloth with the strained debris and squeeze any remaining liquid out into the bowl. Toss the cheesecloth and debris. Step 6: Allow the cannabutter to cool for about an hour in the fridge. You will see that the butter will rise to the top and become solid. Because marijuana is fat soluble, all of the goodies will be attached to the butter and the water is now a by-product. Step 7: Lay out a large piece of wax paper. Run a spatula or knife around the edge and lift the butter off. Place upside down the wax paper and scrape off any of the cooking water. Your cannabutter is now complete! Wrap in the wax paper and store in the fridge just like regular butter. Be sure to properly label your product and keep out of reach of children and pets to avoid accidental ingestion.
