About Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Chocolate Covered Strawberries is blissful-delicious, as you might expect from the name. But unlike the real food, the strain has hidden flavors that kick in on the exhale and give you a more complex experience, one filled with upliftment and head-heavy happiness. The strain was made as a cross between Fire Alien Black and Starfighter F2, coming out slightly Indica-dominant (60/40). The strain is famous for being a big help at hangouts and a major booster of appetites. Continue reading to learn what you might taste and feel hanging out with Chocolate Covered Strawberries.
The strain’s genetic profile, bred by Exotic Genetix out of Washington state, shows that it has Afghani #1, Lemon Kush, and potentially the SFV cut of OG Kush in its heritage, which is where it gets Indica-dominant traits even though the numbers only show a slight dominance. The strain yields incredibly well and will make the whole greenhouse smell like strawberries, popping off these medium-sized plants. They grow in bushy configurations with multi-top structures in a range of colors from bright teal-green to deeper purple centers in its robust colas. Flowering time is around 53 days on average.
The Chocolate Covered Strawberries strain is aromatic and interesting, with a sharp fruity flavor on the outset that tastes like strawberries but which transforms into undertones of chocolate, diesel fuel, and other spicy herbs. The aroma is pungent and fruity with a touch of chemicals. With a THC level of around 20% on average, Chocolate Covered Strawberries is suitable for a wide range of users, in addition to being growable by cultivators in a wide range of experience levels.
The scent and aroma of the strain are delicious, so what are the effects like? Well, users who are delighted by the taste of strawberries are equally delighted by the high that results from it, which starts as a major kick-back-and-relax kind of feeling that progresses to a single, intense urge to eat. Chocolate Covered Strawberries is an appetite-increaser like few strains are, with users reporting needing snacks for hours, locked to their couch after taking a bite out of this strain. Though the initial sensation is head-heavy, happy, and euphoric, the strain roots your body after a while and prevents you from moving with feelings of pure calm.
This makes the strain great for stressed-out, low-appetite, achy weeks that could use a weekend full of hanging out and doing nothing but eating. We don’t recommend Chocolate Strawberries for afternoons when you have anything else to do. But as a do-nothing treat, it more than earns its name.
I’ll be honest the name is what caught me first, and I looked up the strain afterwards. I’d say the description is accurate. I deal with some mild anxiety and this strain helped with the stress and kept anxiety at bay. I feel so “even keel”,(not like a zombie). I am not tired but my eyes and shoulders feel relaxed. Tbh, I can’t comment on flavor as I don’t really focus on flavor or aromas. I don’t feel the need to eat a lot. Highly recommend for anyone looking to manage stress. If you see this strain, try it.
