About Blackberry Meringue
Blackberry Meringue is an award-winning hybrid from cannabis cultivators Dank By Pank. Coming out of Boulder, Colorado their motto is “The Endless Pursuit of Headiness”. Blackberry Meringue is one of many high quality strains Pank offers and took home 3rd place at the High Times Colorado Cannabis Cup in 2019. This exceptional cultivar brings a unique flavor, amazing colors and is coated in “sprankles”.
The parents of this creamy cannabis confection are Slymer and Blackberry Kush, giving a pretty even balance of sativa and indica genetics. Slymer, which is actually a select phenotype of Chernobyl, is a Trainwreck cross that adds a little stretch to the stalks of Blackberry Meringue.
The Blackberry Kush is a shorter, stalkier, heavy indica and passed on its squatty robustness plus rich, dark purple and red colors. This makes Blackberry Meringue fall somewhere in the middle, a mid-sized plant, with beautiful red violet hues during harvest.
Buds of Blackberry Meringue are rock solid; so dense you’ll have to have a grinder to roll it up. The larger conical nugs have a pale green, deep purple and crimson tinge that gets covered in a sugary frosting of trichomes and champagne colored hairs. The aroma is intense like a sweet and acidic sour citrus candy. It's a great mix of the Trainwreck and Jack’s Cleaner terpene profile from Slymer and the sweetness of Blackberry Kush.
The flavor matches the smell with distinctive lemon and spiced berry notes. You can really taste the abrasive citrus fighting it out with the syrupy sweetness for dominance. Testing out at around 17% THC, this feels more like a 25% THC strain due to its invigorating terpene profile at first. A pronounced Eucalyptus oil-like effervescence helps in aiding the initial punch of the effects, which are immediate. The heavy initial effects taper off quite quickly and ease into a nice relaxing functional euphoria. This makes for a great start of the day strain or a late afternoon reboot.
Pank stands for “People Always Need Kush” and this strain is no exception to that rule. Dank by Pank continues to provide some of the headiest strains on the market. Available in a few Colorado and Los Angeles dispensaries. If you come across this flavorful Cannabis Cup winning cultivar in flower or concentrate, treat yourself.
Very strange taste when gaping the live resin but it's a very balanced hybrid. It's good but not great, maybe a morning toke or hiding from kids toke ;-) It's a fun high for someone who favors Indica. Worth trying out, 4sure
