About Garlic Breath

The rare Garlic Breath strain is a stinky cross between Chemdog D BX2 and Hogsbreath, though some report their phenotype’s lineage as a hybrid of GMO and Mendo Breath instead. It was bred by ThugPug Genetics for users in Colorado enthusiastically ready to stink up their lives. We’ll be making a lot of repeat visits to words like “pungent,” “potent,” and “stank” in this article because Garlic Breath really has that eye-searing, tear-inducing smell you’d expect from the name.

We might as well get right into it – you’ll be reminded of potent, pungent, stanky fresh garlic when you smell this strain, which could be a positive or negative depending on how Italian you are. If you have amazing memories at neighborhood Italian restaurants, you’ll be right back in your childhood bliss, in a cloud of skunk, spice, and peppery herbs. The takeaway here is that if you plan on hiding your smoke, or kissing someone who isn’t too keen on cannabis, then this is not the strain for you.

The Garlic Breath strain can be grown outside or inside and flowers in around 63 days. Physically, the plant has light green nugs shaped like spades and peppered with bright red-orange pistils. The trichomes are light amber, almost like a dusting of sand.

GROWING TIPS: The strain requires a little bit of experience to grow properly. Garlic Breath stretches if you let it – be sure to set the roots as deep as possible before the flowering period. The top nugs of the strain are the most productive, so we recommend trimming the lower branches aggressively. This is a favorite strain for growers who produce concentrates – you’ll put your rosin press to good use with Garlic Breath because of how much usable resin it makes.

The savory, pungent stank of the strain may make you nervous about its taste. However, the taste of the strain isn’t nearly as potent as its smell. The flavor of garlic and herbs lingers but more discreetly (as discreet as garlic can get). With a THC level around 17%, you won’t have to worry too much about being overwhelmed to enjoy the effects the strain has to offer. But be warned -- some of the other phenotypes floating around have tested higher, more in the mid-20s.

If you can take the stank, you can even use it to get to sleep in the late evenings, letting your mind settle into a garlicky ocean tide that eases and sedates you. This makes the strain useful for anyone suffering from fatigue, depression, insomnia, or stress.

It may be the pungent flavor or the cannabis itself, but you’ll be hungry on Garlic Breath. If you have frequent nausea or low appetite, you can kiss it goodbye on this strain’s tasty energy. So long as you have the stomach for it.

MARCUS ROSS

I have smoked over 4 OZ of this particular strain from LivWell in colorado, its the GMO x Mendo Breath pheno and says 24% on the containers, its very loud, pugent, potent and very beautiful, it could even be to much for an unseasoned smoker, so mind your doseage, if you like a savory OG taste that stays on your mouth for a long time, give this strain a shot, 8/10
