About Eddy OG
Eddy OG, also known as OG Eddy Lepp, is a pedigree strain, one that took 2nd place at the 2013 High Times Cannabis Cup. Eddy OG was created by Apothecary Genetics. In 2004 they crossed OG Kush and Grape Ape, both of which have won their own slew of breeding awards. This means it comes from a line that goes back through Lemon Thai and Skunk #1 to Afghani and Pakistani indica landrace strains (Mexican on the Sativa side). The flavor of Eddy OG ranges from fruity and sweet to earthy and tends to be pretty accessible in this balanced little flower. Continue reading to learn how this strain looks and how it will make you feel.
The buds of the Eddy OG plant are dark, dense, and brown, with speckles of green and amber pistils. It’s named after Eddy Lepp, the cannabis cultivator (Eddy Lepp Medicinal Gardens) whose garden was so huge that he bought himself a ticket to federal prison in 2009 with the confiscation of over 30,000 plants. It is an easily grown strain with a low-growing shape like a shrub. It doesn’t spread out too much and its dense buds are ready for harvesting in around 65 days of flowering.
The aroma of Eddy OG is strong, sweet, and earthy. Tones of the outdoors, complete with wood and herbs, mix well with its flavor, which is a tantalizing ton of sweet tropical fruit tastes, mixed with sweet pine. This makes the strain doubly accessible, though its THC levels are not well-documented. Proceed with caution if you can get your hands on this evenly balanced bud.
The effects progress from feelings of calming, cerebral creativity and transform into relaxing euphoria. The strain is listed everywhere as having hunger as a side effect, so keep your favorite snacks around for when the munchies hit. Users also report feeling uplifted and happy, less focused on work and stress, and more mentally able to relax without their racing negative thoughts dragging them down.
We’re not saying Eddy OG is easy to get, but if you can find some, you can count on a few things. The first is a punch of cerebral brain activity that will leave you a locked lounge lizard for hours. The second is a flavor of earthy, fruity pine. It may be impossible for Eddy Lepp to enjoy his namesake anymore after passing away in 2021, but you can still honor his memory with this trumped-up fruity powerhouse.
