About Acapulco Gold
Genetics & History
Acapulco Gold is a sativa-dominant hybrid known for the golden hue on its green buds. This old strain is said to produce a powerful cerebral high that raises one's mood without producing overpowering feelings of happiness. Acapulco Gold comes from Acapulco, Mexico, but the exact genetics of the strain are unknown as it is a landrace strain that grew naturally for ages.
This strain is 80% sativa with THC potency ranging from 19 to 24%. Acapulco Gold seeds are hard to acquire seeds these days. It is often referred to in pop culture like the film, Up in Smoke, by Cheech and Chong. The strain was in high demand during the 60s and 70s in the United States.
Appearance, Aroma & Flavor
The flavor and aroma that are present are mostly earthy at first. Chestnut and fruity flavors arise when a flame is brought to the bud. If you are a fan of sweet and spicy strains, you'll love Acapulco Goold. The colas become encrusted with sparkling trichomes.
The cerebral high mixes with a calming body high for a relaxing experience. Mild paranoia and anxiety have also been reported. Users may experience dry mouth and eyes as well as headaches from using the strain.
Consumers use this strain to find relief from stress and anxiety. Those dealing with depression use it to lift their mood. The body high can also relieve chronic aches and pains.
Traditionally, this strain was grown outdoors. Growing it indoors is still proving to be tricky for producers as there are no clear guidelines on how to do it. This makes the strain harder to find as more growers move their operations inside. When grown indoors, the strain flowers for 70-75 days. Outdoors, plants are ready for harvest by mid-October. There have been reports of yields up to 500 grams per square meter.

enjoying some of the live rosin from earthwolf and it is delicious. just exactly what im looking for from the old school strain. dab for the flavors, stay for the effects. since i am unable to consume flower or edibles, this is really doing its job and sure you could dab a .25 but why the heck would you? no need to waste your medicine and im all aboard the south of the border flavor. love it. thanks to local for gettin it for me i appreciate the extra effort without being asked.
Wow!!! What an awesome strain! This is a very clear headed, focus, get things done kind of strain. I was lucky enough to be able to purchase this strain out here in a live resin form and it was truly great. It helped a ton with my fatigue, stress, muscle pains, anxiety and more. I’ve been using this strain before the gym and before bike rides/running which has provided great energy and a nice clear headed euphoric feeling. This is a great strain! One of my favorite sativas next to Maui Waui.
Would love to Find something that works for me I have chronic pancreatitis in IBS

Made in Canada; in 2008. Acapulco Gold was named after the coastline village of Acapulco de Juárez , commonly called Acapulco; the reason behind Acapulco Gold; was to create a mexican landrace- that would not only do well in canada but the united states; the idea was too have a 24% thc to 0.5% CBD; ratio. Because a little CBD never hurt anyone- and most common marjiuana strains all contain atleast 0.5-1% CBD. Acapulco Gold first his you with a way of euphoria; then deep sedation; and relaxation; follow by clarity; and a mind at ease- Acapulco Gold taste is sweet and spicy. Acapulco Gold also may make you feel as if you were in a Psychedelic Trip, making you feel all warm and fuzzy; on the inside followed by sedation and relaxation.
I have bipolar disorder, so I generally avoid Sativas, but when I saw a local dispensary had Acapulco Gold in vape form I HAD to try it. I’m glad I did. I am extremely high. I focused, happy, hungry, giggly and relaxed. No paranoia. The only negative is the vape makes me cough and it makes my mouth water INSTANTLY. Have ice water and tissues nearby. However, it’s 100% worth it. Cheech and Chong had it right: “ No stems or seeds that you don’t need, Acapulco Gold is badass weed!”
