Yukon Possession, Purchasing, and Consumption Rules

In Yukon, you can purchase up to 30 grams of cannabis at once if you are 19 years old or older. You can also gift up to 30 grams of cannabis to another legally aged adult and grow up to four plants at home if your landlord permits it.  Purchasing cannabis in store: You can purchase cannabis products including flower, gel caps, oil, seeds, and vapes at one of these stores in Yukon, Canada.  Purchasing cannabis online: If you live in Yukon, you can have cannabis products delivered to you buy purchasing them from Cannabis Yukon, the province’s only legal online cannabis retailer. You’ll also need to receive the delivery in person or your package will be redirected to Canada Post where you’ll be able to pick it up when you’re ready.   Consumption laws: You can consume cannabis in a private residence or in a licensed establishment allowing cannabis use. Driving while high is illegal. 

Yukon Licensing Rules for Retailers

If you want to open a cannabis retail store in Yukon, you’ll need to obtain a valid license from the Cannabis Licensing Board. The initial application fee will cost you $2,050 and the renewal fee will cost you $1,550. Once you receive a license, you’ll need to make sure your store complies with the Yukon Liquor Corporation’s (YLC) cannabis rules including exclusively purchasing wholesale cannabis from the YLC, submitting employees to criminal background checks, and equipping storefronts with sufficient secure storage capacity and video surveillance.
