20 years ago Masha came to the United States from Russia, and the cannabis industry is all the better for it today. Cannabis fuels her passion, and the more we talked about it, the more evident that fact became. We're glad we got to meet Masha, and she is definitely someone in the cannabis space you should get to know too. Here' s this week's Wikileaf Social Spotlight: Masha Brown.
Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Masha Brown and I’m the Social Media & Community Outreach Manager at The Evergreen Market.
Why do you choose to consume?
I consume for a multitude of reasons. Sometimes it's after a long day and I just want to relax and release the tension. I choose to consume to open my mind, to be more free thinking and more open to concepts and ideas. And sometimes, it's just for fun.
What is your favorite activity to do while stoned?
I love to dance. That’s one way for me to meditate; cannabis can enhance my creativity allowing me to step out of my mind and into another realm of feeling. I grew up doing ballet, modern.. but I love to improv a free flow - it helps me escape my mind and I always feel better after. I also enjoy watching a good movie or being somewhere like the beach or exploring a new city. Basically anything. Cannabis makes most things in life better.
What is your favorite way to consume?
It has to be flower, and my favorite piece is a glass on glass bong from Special K. Living on my own and based on how I was raised, I hate wasting. I pack fat snappers to get as high as possible with using the least amount of weed. It reminds me of the days of the glass SoBe waterfalls in college.
What's your most memorable getting high story?
Arriving at Hempfest for the very first time. I think it was 2005. The magnitude of the event and amount of people openly smoking cannabis and celebrating it really put me in a sense of awe.
How did you get involved in the cannabis industry?
After college, I worked at two medical dispensaries at the same time. I took some time away from the cannabis industry for about three years, then came back in 2015 to the retail market and started as a budtender at The Evergreen Market.
How do your parents feel about you working in the cannabis space?
I think they are proud I am making it on my own. They see how happy working in the industry makes me and I think that pleases them to know I am living an authentic life to who I am.d
What's your favorite brand/strain?
Mad Mark Farms. The care that’s bred into these plants is beyond imaginable. I love Amnesia, Carl Sagan & Black Cherry Soda.
What are your go-to tunes to listen to while you're stoned?
