What’s makes soaking in a secluded hot spring or watching a bear pluck it’s dinner from a stream that much better? Experiencing it high and for free.
The National Park Service is turning 100 years old this weekend, Happy Birthday NPS! To celebrate their centennial, they are waiving all entrance fees to 124 paid parks Friday, August 25th through Sunday, August 28th.
To get you feeling at one with nature, here are our top 5 National Parks that pair perfectly with that Alaskan Ice you had for breakfast:
#1 Denali National Park
Located 120 miles outside of Fairbanks, Alaska. Denali national park is 600 majestic acres of Mountainous Peaks, low elevation forest and plenty of wildlife.
#2 Rocky Mountain National Park
A national park list wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the Rocky Mountains. With over 300 miles of hiking trails, 5 campgrounds and the closest dispensary less than an hour away the Rocky Mountain national Park has something to offer even the most novice outdoor enthusiasts.
#3 Crater Lake National Park
Look at the picture, now look at it high…it’s still amazing. Pair this view with a relaxing strain like Blue Dream and get lost in nature’s beauty.
#4 Olympic National Park
Olympic National Park is the only park in America that boasts three distinct ecosystems; including a temperate rainforest. Less than an hour drive to the nearest dispensary, Olympic National Park is a great place to hike, surf and soak in a relaxing hot spring this weekend.
#5 Black Canyon of the Gunnison
Black Canyon of the Gunnison got its name because some parts of the gorge only receive 33 minutes of sunlight per day, tricking the eyes into thinking the walls are black. With scenic stops offering views over 2,000 feet down and the world’s fastest bird, Black Canyon of the Gunnison is part natural roller coaster, part sci-fi backdrop.
*Cannabis is still illegal in national parks, we suggest consuming prior to entry.
