About Violet Delight
Violet Delight is a pleasantly-scented bud that offers well-balanced but slightly drowsy effects. The strain combines the powerful genetics of Blueberry, Green Crack, and Shiskaberry. The result has surprisingly little of the dank odors that mark many other strains. Instead, consumers can enjoy its floral smoke while settling into a laid-back but clear-headed high. Violet Delight’s THC has consistently been measured at between 17% and a whopping 26%.
In size, Violet Delight’s flowers are not particularly impressive, hanging together in small, spade-shaped nuggets with a pointed tip. Color-wise, these buds tend to stun with shades of sage green mixed with pale lavender. The latter hues are the result of anthocyanin pigments that are activated by cold temperatures during the growing process. These compact, indica-typical flowers are twisted through with vivid orange pistils and are finished off w frosty trichomes.
Violet Delight is known for its exceptionally sweet aroma, which has some distinct notes of violets. Hanging underneath is a sugar-sweet, cotton candy-like smell. Grinding up these buds, meanwhile, reveals some slight undertones of earthy musk, but not nearly enough to overpower the strain’s more floral scents. When combusted in a pipe or a joint, Violet Delight gives off a very smooth and easily ingested smoke. This smoke tastes fruity and slightly floral on the exhale.
Like many predominantly indica strains, Violet Delight takes some time before its high hits. Within 10 to 15 minutes, effects arrive as a concentrated pressure around the lower forehead and temples, with a possible tingling feeling or a flushing in the cheeks. Once these odd sensations become more familiar, users can participate in the strain’s mental stimulation, which can seem to bring their surroundings into a new focus. Certain thoughts may begin to occupy more attention than they ordinarily might and may jump in free association from one to the next. This mindset can allow for productivity when it comes to complicated, analytical tasks.
It may also make some users chatty, inspiring free-flowing conversations in social settings. Violet Delight can also have the effect of inducing some psychedelic changes in perception, including an intensification of stimuli like bright lights or loud sounds. Some consumers also report a strange feeling of time dilation. Those looking to push these trippy properties to their full potential should pair Violet Delight with a spacey movie or album. Indeed, kicking back with ambient entertainment may be all you want to do while under this strain’s influence, as its palpable body high creeps in after an hour or so. As the strain’s relaxing effects take over, any lingering muscular tension tends to dissipate as deep breathing happens more freely and easily. While Violet Delight’s body stone still allows for mental lucidity, it may rob smokers of any earlier motivation, rendering them happy to do nothing more than a snack or binge-watch. Because it starts off with some energy before melting into sedation, this strain is recommended for consumption between late afternoon and early evening.
Violet Delight’s versatility gives it several uses for medical cannabis patients as well. The lucidity associated with its onset can help those with attention deficit disorders to sustain focus on a single task. Its mood-altering effects may temporarily relieve symptoms of stress, depression, and anxiety. The strain may also induce the munchies, making it a great appetite stimulant for those undergoing chemotherapy or similarly harsh treatments. Because it can bring about some fairly strong, obsessive patterns of thinking, patients who are prone to panic or paranoia should consume Violet Delight with caution.
Seeds of Violet Delight are not available online and those looking to grow the strain at home should take clippings from healthy, mature plants of the strain in order to foster “clones.” Once obtained, the strain can be grown indoors or outdoors in a hot, humid climate. Plants tend to be short and bushy in stature and flower within 8 to 9 weeks. Gardeners looking to bring out the flowers’ eye-catching purple hues should also briefly expose their crops to cold (but not freezing!) temperatures just before flowering begins.
Violet Delight’s visual and olfactory appeal make it a great bud to share at parties as a conversation piece. The strain is especially worth seeking out by terpene snobs and connoisseurs of flavor.
