About Tropical Tang

Sometimes known simply as Tang, Tropical Tang is a sativa-leaning hybrid with a surprisingly complex flavor. Little is known about this rare strain’s original breeder or genetic lineage, but its appeal is hard to deny. With a memorable aroma and dynamic, long-lasting effects, Tropical Tang is a solid daytime smoke sure to impress cannabis newbies and veterans alike. Its THC content has been measured at between 15% and 22%.

Tropical Tang makes its bag appeal clear right off the bat, with large and well-formed flowers. The buds adhere in a distinctly tapered, spadelike shape with a seemingly hybridized structure -- although they cling together densely at the core, the large leaves spiral loosely outward. The leaves themselves are a deep mossy green, although frequently, phenotypes of the strain boast eye-catching shades of lavender and purple in their leaves; these surprising hues are the product of anthocyanin pigments which are activated when cold weather sets in during the growing process. Finally, these already-colorful flowers are crowned by a profusion of cloudy white trichomes, which account for the strain’s potency.

True to their name, Tropical Tang’s flowers give off a tart, tropical-inflected scent similar to peach or apricot. Hanging out underneath these top notes of stonefruit is a rank, skunky odor. Grinding up these buds, meanwhile, gives off some strong fumes of diesel. Despite these harsh, dank aromas, Tropical Tang gives off a very smooth smoke when combusted. On the exhale, this smoke tastes like a combination of skunk and citrus.

Despite its predominantly sativa properties, the high that comes with this fruity strain is a true creeper and may require as many as 20 to 30 minutes before starting to work its magic. The wait is worth it, though, as Tropical Tang finally arrives with palpable feelings of euphoria and stimulation. Smokers may feel suddenly animated or chatty as their thoughts begin to veer in several different directions. Ideas or concepts may hold a new weight or fascination that they might not have when the consumer is sober. Furthermore, Tropical Tang’s cerebral power can illuminate associations between seemingly unrelated concepts, taking the smoker on a journey of free association. In the right set and setting, this mental engagement can be a good way to accomplish detailed, task-based work as well as inspire new solutions to problem-solving scenarios. Those feeling less productive can simply savor their own thoughts while running through mundane tasks like errands or house cleaning. This strain can also boost physical energy and can find a useful outlet for activities like exercise. Under the right circumstances -- and with the right company -- Tropical Tang can even make for a potent aphrodisiac.

Even as this formidable high wears on, its action remains in the head and tends not to taper off into physical sedation. As such, it may prove too jittery for relaxed, kicked-back solo activities like a binge-watching session. Instead, save this bud for a hang session with some close, like-minded friends who will be sure to appreciate Tropical Tang’s distinctive aroma. Because it is more upbeat and buzzy than relaxing, Tropical Tang is recommended for consumption as a wake-and-bake treat or for late morning through afternoon use.

Tropical Tang’s upbeat properties have a few different applications for medical cannabis patients. It can help those with attention deficit disorders to sustain focus on a single task. Its mood-altering effects can also temporarily improve mild to moderate stress and depression. Physically, some anti-inflammatory properties can soothe everyday irritations like headaches or cramps. Because its onset is associated with some cerebral patterns of thinking, Tropical Tang is not recommended for patients who are prone to panic or who have a low THC tolerance.

Seeds of this strain are not available for sale online. Instead, home growers should seek out clippings of mature plants in order to grow genetically identical clones. Although there is little specific information available on cultivating this strain, we know that, like many hybrids, it can be grown indoors or outdoors in a humid, sunny climate. Gardeners looking to bring out Tropical Tang’s purple potential should also expose their crops to nighttime temperatures between 10 and 15 degrees below normal.

Tropical Tang’s energy and mental activation are great for a hiking or camping trip. Thanks to its unique color and aroma, the strain is a true crowd-pleaser in any context.

Ive had the privilege to have a Grow of Tropical Tang back in 2015 i guess. The best experience of my life. The buds are so beatiful but the taste and the smell is incredible. Ive been trying to find another seed or strain at least alike this one and never found anymore. Im making a research to confirm if i wasn't going mad thinking that this strain wasn't listed anywhere, well here is it. It Has an dry apricot aroma and taste, you can really feel the citric flavour while smoking. The effects are very gentle at first, but can surprise you after a few time. And i can see why of the name, it really feels like you're in vacations to Bahamas while you're smoking. Such a great feeling... Well ima look around the world for this strain one day. Not giving up easy hahah. Hope i helped, cheers
