Purple Martian Kush
About Purple Martian Kush
History & Genetics
Purple Martian Kush is an incredibly interesting indica-dominant cannabis strain. Although this strain leans more towards the indica side of things, the sativa effects of Purple Martian Kush’s effects are what first got the strain its attention. This strain was created by crossing Las Vegas Purple Kush and Martian Mean Green. This afternoon/evening strain contains an average THC concentration around 18%.
Appearance, Aroma, & Flavor
Purple Martian Kush, as the name suggests, is primarily a purple bud, but different harvests have produced plants that vary in color from olive to violet. The trichome coat on these buds is often so thick that it looks like frost or snow on your flowers. Likewise, there is a sticky resin layer that covers the surface of these flowers that is likely to gunk up your fingers and your grinder.
The aroma produced by these buds is sweet, like a mix between a berry and grape smoothie with a bit of anise (or licorice) poking out. The aroma is quite powerful and likely to fill the room but isn’t too offensive that it’ll have your neighbors calling your landlord or the police.
Purple Martian Kush’s genetic lineage are attributed to its effects. Martian Mean Green gave the strain its pungent fragrance and the slight Sativa effects. Purple Kush gives Purple Martian Kush its purple coloring and terpene profile which is largely responsible for the entourage effect of this strain’s high. The high from this strain is full-bodied with a little kick of heady sativa effects.
The high begins in the head, and spreads down the back of your neck throughout the rest of your body. The heady effects include a burst of euphoric, creative inspiration that will have you up on your feet. Not much longer, however, the Indica effects will kick in and have you wanting to find a place to chill out. The incredibly calming and relaxing body high has been known to make both men and women aroused. This arousal will eventually fade into a numbing body buzz sure to relax even the most cramped of muscles, especially for women's menstrual cramps.
Purple Martian Kush is quite popular for recreational consumption but has its merits for patients. It is often suggested and recommended for cannabis patients suffering from depression, anxiety, chronic pain, stress, and nausea. The powerful body buzz has been known to lull even the worst insomniacs into a deep slumber.
