Matanuskan Mist

About Matanuskan Mist

Matanuskan Mist gets its name from its parents, the lovely Matanuska Tundra by Sagarmatha and Grey Mist, a classic coffee shop Indica from Amsterdam. This combination (also by Sagarmatha in the Netherlands) isn’t as fast-acting as its parents, but the slow high is worth the wait as you begin exhaling one of the most energizing and relieving strains around. The cerebral happiness and high focus on Matanuskan Mist (or “Matanuska Mist”) are heavy and slow but steady. Continue reading to learn who should be enjoying this strain and what they can expect from this new Sativa-dominant (70/30) favorite.

The Matanuskan Mist strain has a THC level of around 15% and flowers in around 65 days. The plant has dense, small nugs that are shaped like grapes, with a hazy green color and thin, quiet pistils that are the color of amber. The crystal trichomes are thick but mellow and frosty, like light orange dust over the buds. Rock-solid buds and invisible pistils aside, the strain produces a moderate yield of around 315g per square meter. It can be grown outside or in a greenhouse. Either way, it’s not going to give you a ton of trouble, but it’s also not going to be the biggest yielder of all time.

The strain’s high is what they call a “creeper,” meaning it takes a while to get going. If you let the strain do its thing, Matanuskan Mist becomes an incredibly heavy head feeling, locking you to your couch, convincing you to relax and take the day off. You’ll be immovable for as long as the strain lasts, which many consumers report could be hours. While you’re enjoying the strain, barely knowing where you are, stress and depression may melt out of you. This includes mood swings, especially for those who find it difficult to regulate their attention or emotions as the stressful week gets long near the end.

As for flavors, Matanuskan Mist has a mysterious, spicy flavor, one that emphasizes an earthen aftertaste that turns pungent and herbal. The smell follows suit but is even skunkier and danker. The strain continues to mount in spicy power as you smoke, becoming as dense as the little buds but in your head.
