About Headstash

History & Genetics

Karma Genetics created the Headstash strain as a three-way combination of other famous fruity strains like Cannarado’s Cherry Pie, Girl Scout Cookies, and KarmaRado OG. Even this polyhybrid didn’t have enough Kush in it for their liking so they added Biker Kush to the mix as well, arriving at the intense indica-dominant, complex hybrid known as Headstash (though the exact indica/sativa balance is not well-documented).

This strain took 1st place in Indicas at the Amsterdam Elite Cup in 2015, a competition whose stature now skyrockets the reputation of Headstash into the public consciousness. If you’re looking for a classy strain with a globally recognized reputation for a satisfying high, look no further than Headstash.

When you begin to taste Headstash, you’ll notice not only overtones of diesel but a host of other earthy, sweet, and fruity flavors owing to a pretty out-there terpene content.

Effects

In addition to the high-resin buds, this fruity, Kush-centric terpene mix gives Headstash its cerebrally uplifting high, followed by several physical, full-body effects. Those who experience the Headstash high should find themselves happy, relaxed, and uplifted. This makes it a mild relaxant for those with rampant, stressful thoughts and can be a nice comedown from a busy week for those that deal with chronic anxiety, stress, or even pain issues.

Stress can cause muscle tension, which makes sense when you’re in real danger. But if it happens all the time, those muscles remain permanently contracted, leading to chronic pain and inflammation, which Headstash can help you alleviate.

This strain has a relaxing effect without being a full-blown sedative, so only those with the mildest possible insomnia could use the strain to knock themselves out. Instead, Headstash is a nice “wake-and-bake,” or a strain to use in the morning to feel ready to face the day and relax in the afternoon.

If you have a ton of work, maybe save the Headstash for later. But if you just plan on lounging, having friends over, or coming down from a high-stress work week (or day), the fruity, complex herbal flavors and a pleasant high of the award-winning Headstash strain should do the trick.

Growing

Headstash can be grown indoors or out for an average yield of about 410 grams per plant, which is mid-high for a strain like this. It flowers in about 67 days indoors. In those conditions, an experienced grower can increase Headstash’s yield through advanced growing methods as it’s highly susceptible to topping and low-stress training. You’ll also notice a trichome production on Headstash that absolutely explodes. It keeps coming and never stops, which is why we recommend this strain for creating high-quality concentrates.

To put it mildly, growers looking for a cropped fit for heavy hash extraction should seek out Headstash. Hash extraction uses resin to create pure extracts and concentrates and Headstash has a great yield of top-quality resin. This is just one of the aspects that won it the top prize for Indicas in Amsterdam.

This is the best strain for anxiety, pain and stress relief. It is also great for PMS and PTSD. My racing thought have calmed down dramatically and I’m able to rest easy. I’m so glad I found this strain! I’m a heavy user and this strain is not for the weak!
