About Dream Beaver

Not to be confused with Dreamweaver, an indica strain from Dutch Passion, Dream Beaver is a sativa-dominant hybrid with a complex aroma. The strain was created by prolific growers Bodhi Seeds as a cross between Afgooey, Blockhead, and Appalachia. Its euphoric and mentally-sharp effects are a boon to cannabis newcomers and veterans alike. The strain’s THC content has been measured at between 17% and 26%.

Dream Beaver’s flowers are distinguished by their medium size and elongated, spindly shape. The buds have a sativa-typical structure, with fluffy-looking leaves that twist loosely away from each other in a ragged, piecey manner. These loose leaves are a pale shade of sage green and are twisted through with curly orange pistils and rust-colored hairs (which are actually pistils, botanical reproductive structures). Finally, a high volume of shiny-looking, cloudy white trichomes coat the inner and outer nooks and crannies of Dream Beaver’s flowers.

When properly cured, Dream Beaver’s flowers emit a predominantly dank, earthy scent, similar to damp soil, There are also some herbal, almost medicinal accents floating underneath this earthy aroma. Grinding up or picking apart the flowers gives off some odors of spice and hash, possibly passed on from the Afghani landrace in the strain’s genetics. When combusted, Dream Beaver gives off a thick smoke that can be harsh on the sinuses and lungs. This smoke tastes sweet and slightly toasted on the exhale.

Dream Beaver wastes no time before setting off its spark of mental stimulation. At first, the strain goes straight to the head, conferring some dizziness or a flushing in the cheeks; some consumers also report a sensation of pressure around the temples or an increase in salivation. Once these odd tics abate, however, they’re supplanted by an increase in cerebral patterns of thinking. Ideas may flow from one to the next in rapid succession and smokers may find themselves grouping concepts into categories that may not make much logical sense to those who aren’t similarly intoxicated. This mindset can be a great way to get work done, whether that work is detailed and analytical or creative and open-ended. For those feeling less productive, Dream Beaver can help add some background color to menial tasks like doing the dishes or laundry.

As this strain’s high wears on, its mental clarity tends to stay strong and users are able to hold lucid conversations long after they’ve toked on its fruity smoke. Any physical relaxation that does creep in isn’t likely to cause fatigue or couchlock and may instead prove to enhance activities that involve full body and brain coordination; it can be a good accompaniment to exercise, gaming, and even sex, given the right company. Dream Beaver’s tendency to speed up the consumer’s inner monologue can also spill out into free-flowing conversation, whether you’re with familiar friends or entirely new acquaintances. Thanks to its buzzy, euphoric effects, Dream Beaver is best reserved for daylight use; it can even be a fun strain for waking and baking if you’re faced with a busy agenda for the day.

Bodhi sells seeds of this potent strain, but they do not appear to be regularly stocked. Those looking to grow Dream Beaver at home may want to obtain clippings that they can grow as clones.
