Cripple Creek Kush

About Cripple Creek Kush

Cripple Creek Kush hailing from the mountains of Colorado is one elusive beast. Most sources point to the company Green Dragon Colorado as the breeder and exclusive owner of this majestic strain, but digging a little deeper you’ll find that the actual breeder was Tom Hill back around the early 2000s. The cross is Pine Tar Kush x Deep Chunk, though other parents have also been claimed elsewhere. Regardless of its dicey origins the strain was most definitely named after the small, rustic casino town nestled deep in the Rocky Mountains.

Cripple Creek is definitely geared for the indoor grower. The flowers are known to turn rich purples and pinks close to harvest. With a medium height and quicker finish around 8-9 weeks, she makes a great addition to any growroom. Though, finding seeds nowadays might be a little tough as they haven’t been in production in a long time. You might be able to find a cut from a friend of a friend around Colorado if you are lucky.

Most reports give this strain a minty, astringent and citrus aroma and flavor, kind of like a lemon scented cleaning spray. This is most likely due to the high terpinolene content inherited from the Pine Tar Kush. Expect limey and floral notes on the smoke’s exhale. Many reports claim this strain’s effect has some serious staying power, and can still be felt up to 4-6 hours after consumption. Be ready for a lofty and hypnotic release as the effects taper off.
