About Chem Valley Kush

Chem Valley Kush is a mostly sativa hybrid with a strong, stinging aroma. Lest you be fooled by its name, this strain doesn’t have any roots in an actual place called Chem Valley -- rather, it’s a cross between the popular strains Chemdawg and San Fernando Valley OG Kush. Created by breeders Cali Connection, Chem Valley Kush has a long-lasting high thanks to THC levels ranging from 18% to an impressive 30%.

Flowers of Chem Valley Kush are on the smaller side, clinging together in popcorn-like spheres. Despite their sativa genetics, these rounded buds have a more indica-influenced structure, with a solid center composed of tightly-coiled leaves. The leaves themselves are a dark shade of forest green and are shot through with curly orange and bright red pistils. Finally, sticky, cloudy trichomes cover all visible nooks and crannies of these little nuggets, making them difficult to break up by hand.

When cured, flowers of Chem Valley Kush give off as astringent scent reminiscent of gasoline fumes. A deeper whiff might reveal some hints of pine needles as well. When ground up or broken apart, these thick flowers give off more of a deep, musky scent, accented by a peppery kick. Burning the buds yields a sour and heavy smoke that, more often than not, causes smokers to cough or makes their eyes water. On the exhale, this smoke has a chemical flavor that’s somewhat like vinegar.

As with many other sativa strains, the high from Chem Valley Kush hits hard and fast. Shortly after inhaling (and sometimes before they’ve even finished coughing), smokers are struck with a feeling of pressure around the lower forehead and temples; other odd sensations like an increase in salivation are also possible. As consumers acclimate to these tics, they may notice that the flow of their thoughts has picked up in speed or become more intense. Certain ideas (or even objects) that would not otherwise interest them may seem to take on a new dimension, sparking all kinds of unexpected associations or revelations. For some, this cerebral activation can allow for extended work on all kinds of tasks, both analytical and more mundane. When shared in social settings, this frenzy of mental activity can translate into freewheeling conversation and camaraderie.

Even as Chem Valley Kush’s high wears on, users tend to be unaffected by burdensome physical effects. While some smokers may feel a subtle relief from any muscular tension, for the most part, the strain’s energy persists and can be put to use with activities ranging from exercise to (given the right company, of course) sex. Chem Valley Kush’s wide-eyed properties can also be a fun way to enjoy a hike or a long walk outside. Thanks to its mostly buzzy effects, this strain is recommended for daytime consumption.

Chem Valley Kush’s stimulating vibes can also have several benefits for medical cannabis patients. Its strong propensity for concentration can be a boon to those with attention deficit disorders, helping them to work on one task at a time. Its emotional boost may also temporarily soothe the difficult symptoms of mild to moderate stress and depression. Physical benefits mostly center on the strain’s anti-inflammatory properties, which can take the sting out of everyday afflictions like headaches, nausea, and cramps. Because its palpable mindrace can be uncomfortable or disorienting in the wrong set and setting, Chem Valley Kush is not recommended for patients who are prone to panic or paranoia.

Fortunately for prospective home growers, Cali Connection has made seeds of Chem Valley Kush available for sale online. Once obtained, the strain can be grown indoors or out, with outdoor success calling for a semi-humid climate with daytime temperatures in the 70s (Fahrenheit). These plants can be somewhat tall and branchy and may require indoor gardeners to trim back their crops in order to keep heights manageable. Chem Valley Kush flowers within a long 10 to 11 weeks, but rewards patients growers with a higher than average yield of buds.

With soaring effects and an admirable genetic profile, Chem Valley Kush is a must-try for sativa fans.
