Banana Kush is an Indica dominant strain that smells and tastes just like the name would suggest – a smooth blend of bananas and good Kush.

Providing a potent Indica body high that starts with laziness that increases to complete sedation, the strain is almost always prescribed and recommended for night time use. Many will find it hard to stay awake after 2-3 hits an hour or two before bed.

This strain is not completely absent of a Sativa’s cerebral effects though. The cerebral effects allow the strain to elevates moods with a powerful feeling of euphoria. However, no strain is complete without the common minor side-effects consisting of dry mouth and eyes, and the occasional dizziness, paranoia and headaches.

As mentioned above, this strain should be relegated to night time or evening use for most patients and is thus highly prescribed to those fighting the sleep deprivation brought on through insomnia. Banana Kush is often sought out by patients suffering from chronic aches and pains and others find relief from stress and anxiety through use of this strain. To a lesser degree, patients may also find it helps with their migraines, glaucoma, nausea, eating disorders and muscle spasms.

Banana Kush is bred by Cali Kush by crossing the widely known OG Kush mother with a Banana father. The result is a delicious strain that is 60 percent Indica and has a THC count of between 18 and 20 percent. Not recommended for amateur growers as it can require a great deal of attention, Banana Kush can be grown indoors or out. Having a lower yield than other strains, it flowers at about eight to nine weeks. Outside the strain can reach up to 16 feet in height but will mature better in the controlled environment of an indoor grow.
